About Me

Chris Chambers is the owner of Proudhouse Property LLP and Wigglies (Electrical Services).

Proudhouse Property Management's primary aim is to provide lettings and management services to homeowners, landlords and tenants in Somerset, Dorset and the South West. Chris is a member of ARLA, is a STROMA accredited Domestic Energy Assessor and a full-scope electrician registered with NAPIT and ElectricSafe. Proudhouse Property Management aim to provide the best service in the South West and this aim is underpinned by an ethos of impeccable customer service.

Proudhouse Property Management is committed to sustainability and recognise the UK's shortage of homes and, furthermore, the EU directive to reduce CO2 emissions by 80% by 2050. We aim to contribute innovative and energy efficient homes to the UK's housing stock through direct and indirect property development and advice & consultancy with homeowners and landlords. Proudhouse are Stroma accredited for energy assessments and are a qualified Green Deal Adviser - we are also members of the Property Ombudsman Scheme.

Wigglies are members of the National Association of Professional Inspectors and Testers (NAPIT) and the ElectricSafe Register and authorised to certify all electrical work in domestic properties under the requirements of the Building Regulations (England & Wales).

Before starting Proudhouse Property Management, Chris had been involved in property development and specifically energy performance of domestic buildings since 1995. As an undergraduate he produced the first study of its kind to investigate the energy performance of Bristol's public sector housing stock in the context of the Home Energy Conservation Act, 1995. This bill formed the backdrop of some of the energy policy that we see today and is the lineage from which the Government's current "Green Deal" descends. In 1996 Chris was selected through a national search by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) to work within the field of domestic energy efficiency; this exciting offer was declined in favour of pursuing his boyhood dream of being a military pilot! During 16 years as an Officer in the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm Chris retained his interest in property through various projects including extensive refurbishment, renovation and extension of two rural properties, managing his own personal property portfolio, attaining the technical award for Residential Lettings and Property Management from the National Federation Of Property Professionals and qualifying (and working) as a full-scope domestic and commercial electrician.
